Police net bhang worth Ksh300,000

A vehicle carrying Ksh300,000 worth of bhang was nabbed at Ilbisil in Kajiado on transit to Nairobi from Tanzania.

Police grew suspicious of the vehicle after the driver refused to stop and escaped.

According to Kajiado Central OCPD Francis Kumut, police have launched manhunt for the driver who is at large.

Kumut, however, pointed out that most cases of drug trafficking have gone unnoticed because they drugs are transported in tinted cars.

He, however, urged the police to continue with the effort to prevent entry of drugs in Kenya from Tanzania.

The confiscation comes barely three weeks after another car carrying bhang from Tanzania to Nairobi at the border.

Two months ago, police destroyed 75 sacks of bhang packed in 90kg bags after they were intercepted on transit to Nairobi.
