Police officer attacked, pistol stolen in Bungoma

A traffic police officer is nursing head injuries after he was allegedly thrown out of a moving car by unknown men in Ndivisi, Bungoma County.

The officer is reported to have been attacked at around 7.am on Thursday while on duty on the Misikhu-Kamukunywa Road.

According to the officer, he had arrested a probox vehicle operator who was in the company of two other people. As they drove to Webuye Police station for booking, the men sped off in another direction towards Misemwa disobeying the officer’s orders.

They then took his service pistol, phone before throwing him out of the moving care and drove off towards Ndivisi centre where they dumped the car and fled on foot.

They are still at large.
