Police officer detained after demanding Ksh.25K to release man he had arrested
A police constable based in Kitengela was on Tuesday arrested in Embakasi for allegedly demanding money from a civilian over an unknown offence.
According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), constable Steve Omondi had allegedly arrested a man for committing an “undisclosed offence” within Kasarani area and solicited Ksh.25,000 in order to release him.
A motor vehicle – Toyota Mark II – belonging to the cop was also detained during the arrest.
