Police officer on the run after killing wife and daughter
A police constable in Subukia reportedly shot dead his wife and four-year-old daughter after a domestic wrangle.
Constable Cosmas Kipchumba Biwott attached to the Weseges Anti-Stock Theft Unit reportedly shot 26-year-old Jane Njoki in the head 20 times before turning the gun on his 4-year-old daughter, Shantel Nyambura.
According to Subukia OCPD Alex Ng’ang’a, Biwott, aged 24, used a colleague’s firearm to commit the crime before fleeing.
The incident occurred at the Anti-Stock Theft Unit camp in Subukia, after a bitter argument between the two.
Biwott then fled the scene and police have launched a manhunt as his whereabouts remain unknown.
Njoki’s family has demanded for justice and asked the government to ensure that the suspect is arrested and punished.
Speaking at Nyahururu County mortuary after viewing the bodies, some of the family members said that the duo’s relationship was rocky.
