Police officer shoots himself dead in Kilifi
A police officer in Kilifi County on Sunday morning shot and killed himself following a suspected domestic row.
According to the County Police Commandant Patrick Okeri, the officer identified as Constable Kelvin Kipkemoi shot himself at around 5:30am after finishing his night shift duty.
The officer was attached to Kizurini Police station in Kaloleni, Kilifi County.
”We understand that the officer was having domestic issues with his wife and they had probably quarreled leading him to commit the act,” Okeri said.
The police boss however said investigations were underway to establish circumstances that pushed the officer to committing suicide.
This comes only two months after Likoni Deputy OCS Joab Omondi shot himself dead after killing a woman.
