Police officer shoots self in front of his boss

An Administration Police officer shot himself twice on the neck in front of his boss under unclear circumstances in Tana River.

The officer, identified as Kennedy Waweru, attached to the Tana River Deputy County Commissioner’s officer, shot himself twice in the mouth Saturday night inside a bar in Minjila area opposite the AP camp.

According to Tana River County Commander Walter Aliwa, the deceased had been assigned night duties and even attended the customary evening parade before committing suicide.

The officer is said to have been in his official uniform during the incident.

The circumstance that the led to the incident is still unclear.
