Police officer shot as thugs attack DP Ruto’s home

A General Service Unit (GSU) officer has been shot and seriously injured in an attack at Deputy President William Ruto’s Sugoi home in Uasin Gishu County.

Police say the officer’s gun is also missing.

The DP was not at home during the attack that occurred shortly after he left for Kitale for a rally with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ruto is the second most guarded government official in the country after President Uhuru Kenyatta and his home is usually under a 24-hour watch by the GSU officers.
