Police officer under probe for allegedly sodomizing 12

A police officer attached to Macalder Police Station in Nyatike is under investigation for allegedly sodomizing twelve minors in the past three months.

The officer reportedly lured the boys, aged between 11 and 14 years, to his house on different occasions using money and movies.

Erick Okoth, a coordinator of children activities at a nonprofit in Migori County, told journalists that he has recorded a statement at Macalder Police Station.

He claimed that the boys have been suffering in silence and demanded for justice.

According to him, one of the minors who was reportedly a victim of the inhumane act, apparently saw the officer with another child on Tuesday morning and revealed what had happened.

Mr. Okoth also intimated that all the twelve who were allegedly sodomized are to be taken for medical examination on Wednesday as investigations continue.

Speaking to Radio Ramogi, Migori County Children’s Officer John Odinya also urged the police to take action against the accused.

Migori Police Commandant Joseph Nthenge confirmed that he has received the report and the probe is underway.
