Police officers arrested with sandalwood worth Sh2M
Police in Maralal, Samburu County have nabbed a police vehicle transporting 2 tonnes of sandalwood valued at Sh2 million.
Two police officers, an administration police inspector and his driver were also arrested by police acting on a tip-off.
Samburu County Commander Francis Kumut said that the officers have been engaging in the business for a long time since the vehicle’s work ticket was last signed over three weeks ago.
The county commander added that other police vehicles in the county are under close watch as they are said to be engaging in private business.
The two administration police officers will be taken to court once investigations are complete.
