Police officers impound trailer with stolen refrigerators, dispensers in Kibarani

Police officers at Kibarani shopping centre along Mombasa Road, Makueni County, on Wednesday impounded a trailer suspected to have been transporting stolen goods such refrigerators, air fans and dispensers.

Confirming the incident, Makueni County Police Commander Joseph Ole Napeiyan said they arrested the person who was driving the trailer when it was intercepted.

He, however, stated the arrested individual is not the real driver of the trailer but one among a gang of men suspected to have hijacked the trailer at Voi where they allegedly threw out the real driver.

The police boss also said, the alleged real driver of the trailer was treated at a hospital in Voi town, adding that they suspect the hijacking incident was stage-managed.

According to Mr. Napeiyan, the arrested suspect was detained at Makindu Police Station where the trailer was also towed to.
