Police probe mysterious abduction of varsity student

Police have launched investigations into the mysterious abduction of a third year Moi University student.

Evans Odhiambo, 21, was abducted by three men along the busy HatimyTaklyaniRoad and then bundled into a waiting unmarked vehicle.

Police have obtained CCTV footage along the State House Road of the alleged vehicle that sped off towards Mama Ngina Drive Monday afternoon.

The relatives led by Caroline Akinyi Ogutu said the victim was preparing to report back to university in Eldoret on Monday when three men abducted him under unclear circumstance outside the family restaurant located opposite Mombasa Law Court.

She said that the abductors are yet to contact the family for ransom but the family has already reported the matter to the police.

Mombasa based human rights activist Julius Ogogo said the cases of abduction have been rampant in the county hence need for the government to take action.
