Police Ranks High In Latest Corruption Index Report

According to the report, the police is followed by the Judiciary and lands ministry in that order.

The survey by Transparency International dubbed East Africa Bribery Index covers the entire East African region.

In the same report, Kenya has been ranked 4th out of five east african nations in terms of likelihood of one experiencing corruption while seeking public service.

In the first position was Burundi, followed by Tanzania and Uganda and Rwanda in third and fifth positions respectively.

According to the report, the major challenge in Kenya is that 27% do not know where to report corruption.

TI is now calling for campaigns to educate the public on where to report corruption in Kenya and the entire region.

In a speech read on his behalf by Christine Agimba, Attorney General Prof. Githu Muigai said the fight against corruption is a must and a collective responsibility for all.
