Police recover high-tech gun used in Nakuru robbery

Two guns, a HK21 machine gun and ceska pistol, and forty two rounds of ammunition were on Thursday, March 16, recovered in Ahero village Bahati Sub-County, Nakuru County during an operation by detectives from Nakuru Town.

Nakuru County Police Commandant, Hassan Rashid Barua, said that detectives acted on information provided by a suspect they arrested on Wednesday, March 15, after a robbery incident in Bahati that was executed by three armed men who raped three women and stole assorted household goods.

Police also recovered a training certificate and a sack stitching machine which had been stolen from Bahati area.

Barua said that three suspects were arrested in connection with the incident and will be arraigned.

 

He added that police obtained useful information that will assist them arrest the other suspects who are still at large.

The recovery comes in the wake of rising crime in Bahati that has seen several people robbed by armed assailants.

The suspects were taken to Nakuru Central Police Station for further interrogation.
