Police Recover Stolen Sheep In Nyandarua

The officers have also arrested one suspect in connection with the theft in Manyatta village in the outskirt of Ol Kalau town.

According to Nyandarua Central OCPD Wilson Kosgei, they invaded the suspect's home in Manyatta where they found the sheep locked in a house while being fed on fodder.

This follows a tip-off from members from the public who suspected the animals were stolen.

Kosgei has said that it was not usual for farmers in the area to lock the sheep in the house since there was plenty of animal fodder.

The OCPD has also observed that the animals are stolen and later sold to unsuspecting residents or sold in the local abattoirs adding that more suspects were being sought.

The recovery follows numerous reports of livestock thefts in Ol Kalou division and parts of Kipipiri.

"I call upon residents who might have lost their animals in such circumstances to report to the Ol Kalou police station and help police in identifying their animals," said Kosgei.

The OCPD has also thanked members of the public for their cooperation with security agencies in the area saying this has helped reduce crime in the area.
