Police Release Suspect Images Of Meyiwa Killers

Meyiwa 27, was reportedly shot after burglars struck at his girlfriend's house.

Police have offered a reward of 250,000 rand for information about the attack.

Meyiwa's death has once again highlighted the high rate of violent crime in South Africa.

Intruders are said to have entered the house in Vosloorus south of Johannesburg on Sunday 26th October.

Before releasing the pictures, police had described the attackers as tall, dark-skinned and slender with dreadlocks while the other as short, dark skinned and well built.

The men are said to have demanded mobile phones and valuables while the third man remained outside.

National Police Commissioner Riah Phiyega said that Meyiwa was shot once in the upper body as he moved towards the door.

The three men fled shortly after killing Meyiwa

The footballer was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

His funeral is expected to take place on Saturday 1st November.
