Police seize bhang worth Ksh.3 million in Makueni
Police on Sunday seized bhang with a street value of over Ksh.3 million in Emali town, Makueni County.
Confirming the 1am incident, Makueni Police Commander Joseph Napeiyan said the 6,180 rolls of bhang were being transported towards Mombasa from Nairobi.
The police boss said the car — a Toyota Corolla — ferrying the drugs had been flagged down at a stopover in Emali, but the driver declined to stop, prompting security officers to pursue the vehicle.
After driving for about four kilometres, the three occupants of the vehicle, abandoned the car on the road.
“Inside the car we recovered the bhang and a mobile phone that we believe will help in tracking down the suspects. We shall definitely nab the suspects including the owner of the car,” said Napeiyan.
The vehicle was towed to Emali Police Station as further investigations into the incident continue.
