Police seize over 2000 litres of illicit brew in Eldoret

Police in Eldoret have impounded over 2,000 litres of illicit liquor packed in bottles of 250ml bearing fake seals from Kenya Bureau of Standard (KEBS).

The liquor which was impounded in a rental house at Senior area, Roadblock estate along Eldoret Uganda road, is believed to have been distributed to various outlets in Eldoret town and Kitale.

According to Eldoret West OCPD Samuel Mutunga, one person was arrested during the raid and will be arraigned in court as investigations continue.

Uasin Gishu Drugs and Alcohol Control Board director Sila Boit said that the alcohol impounded was unfit for human consumption and a health risk.

He however urged the public to provide any information necessary to help in the investigations.
