Police Vetting Board Boss, Commissioners Accused Of Graft

Kavuludi, who is the lead questioner in the vetting process, has been named in the anti-graft agency report that was released by the National Assembly and Senate on Tuesday.

The report, which was tabled by President Uhuru Kenyatta in Parliament on Thursday last week, contains 175 names of top government and leaders accused of abetting corruption.

Kavuludi is accused of financial impropriety and misappropriation of funds at the National Police Service Commission.

The report further accuses the NPSC chair of making various unaccounted for trips abroad despite being aware of the accounting procedures.

Irregular procurement of Konza ranch

Kavuludi is also accused of abuse of office while at the helm of the police commission.

Further, the report accuses NPSC Chief Executive Officer James Muhoro of financial impropriety.

Commissioner Ronard Musengi has also been accused of irregularities in the procurement of Konza Ranch, which is home to the Konza City. Musengi is accused alongside former Information Permanent Secretary Bitange Ndemo.

The allegations leveled against the commissioners of the police commission leave a lot to be desired.

The leaders are yet to obey the presidential directive requiring them to step aside and allow for investigations.

The issues raised against these commissioners cast a doubt on their integrity and its net effect on the vetting process.

It is not clear on whether the commissioners will suspend the vetting process or will still carry on.
