Police Vetting Enters Day 4

Kenya Police Airwing commandant Rodgers Mbithi Munene has told the police vetting panel that the chopper that crashed with Internal Security Minister George Saitoti and his Assistant Orwa Ojode in June 2012 was in good condition. Mbithi says prior to the accident, he had flown to South Africa with Nancy Gitwanja, the pilot of the ill-fated plane for training and flew the chopper back to Nairobi. He however informed the commission that the police airwing was not furnished with the report for implementation of recommendations after the commission of inquiry completed its investigations.
