Policeman forced to pay Ksh.4K fine at Kisumu airport after vehicle clamped
Drama ensued at the Kisumu International Airport on Saturday morning after a near confrontation between a policeman and National Youth Service (NYS) officers.
The officer had dropped one of his bosses for an early morning flight but parked his vehicle on the pavement.
The NYS officers in charge of security at the airport then clamped the police vehicle.
On returning to his car, the policeman was infuriated and engaged in a near fistfight with the NYS officers prompting passengers and taxi drivers at the Kisumu airport to intervene.
The officer, feeling overwhelmed, retreated and paid the Ksh.4000 penalty for parking in a non-designated area.
It is only after he had made the payment that the NYS officers unclamped the vehicle and let him go.
