Politician strips naked after DP William Ruto insulted Odinga

There was drama at the Siaya County Assembly offices when a Member of County Assembly (MCA) stripped naked to protest claims that Deputy President William Ruto had insulted former Prime Minister Raila Odinga over the ongoing wrangles between the opposition and Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru.

Fredrick Ouda, the Central Gem MCA, stripped naked in his office after a parody twitter account bearing the name of the Deputy President accused Kibera youth of being insensitive and unreasonable when they set ablaze a toilet and a clinic constructed by the National Youth Service (NYS).

The fake twitter handle @WilliamRutoh tweeted: “Let them go back to their flying toilets, you can’t help a fly that wants to follow a corpse to the grave. #Kibera.”

Mr Ouda now wants Ruto to apologize to Odinga and the Coalition for reforms and Democracy (CORD) over the said utterances.

He further threatened to organize for a demonstration to push the Deputy President to officially apologize.

Oudo said that should Ruto fail to apologize, CORD will consider approaching night runners to run around Ruto’s house at night for seven days.

He also said that he will mobilize other party supporters to push the Deputy President to apologize to Odinga.

On Tuesday, youth from Kibera held demonstrations in the area burning down a toilet and a clinic constructed by the NYS after allegations of misappropriation of funds in the service emerged.

Odinga has since called for stepping aside of Waiguru to pave way for investigations into the alleged misuse of funds in her ministry.
