Polls open in Kibra by-election
Voting in the Kibra by-election has kicked off.
Polling stations opened at 6am with voters having streamed in early in the morning.
Police officers have also been deployed in all the polling stations.
Meanwhile, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) announced that it will use the 2017 voter register for the by-election.
24 candidates are set to battle it out in the polls with ODM’s Imran Okoth, Jubilee’s McDonald Mariga and Eliud Owalo of ANC party being the popular candidates.
At least 118,658 voters spread out in five wards are expected to cast their ballot.
The Kibra by-elections follows the death of the area Member of Parliament Ken Okoth who succumbed to cancer in July.
