Pope Francis falls at World Youth Day event in Poland

Pope Francis stumbled and fell while conducting mass during his visit to Poland, the images broadcast on live TV.

The pontiff was walking past the altar at the beginning of the event, at Czestochowa, Poland, on Thursday (July 28), when he was seen to partially collapse to the ground before being assisted to his feet by fellow clergy.

He then continued to celebrate mass.

Pope Francis is on a five-day trip to the Krakow area of southern Poland.
