The popular Maasai curio market that is opposite Sarit Center has been demolished.

On Thursday morning, there was heavy police presence in anticipation of demonstrations by stall owners.

Motorists were urged to use alternative routes with heavy traffic being experienced as roads leading to the curio market were cordoned off.

Maasai market is renowned for its curio products that attract both local and international visitors.
