President Kenyatta announces new nominations

President Uhuru Kenyatta has made more nominations as he continues to consolidate a team to steer the Jubilee government agenda in his second and last term in office.

On Tuesday, the Mr. Kenyatta appointed to the post of Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Eng. John Musonik (Petroleum and Mining), Hassan Noor Hassan (Sports) and Mohamed Ibrahim Elmi (Environment).

Chief Administrative Secretaries are responsible for helping Cabinet Secretaries coordinate the running of affairs in their respective ministries.

President Kenyatta further said he had forwarded to Parliament names of five Principal Secretaries for vetting and approval.

They include; Harry Kimutai as PS Livestock; Alfred Cheruiyot as PS Correctional Services; Prof Fred Sigor as PS Irrigation; Jerome Ochieng as PS ICT; Susan Komen as PS East African Community; and John M. Omenge as PS Mining.

Also included in the latest batch of nominations is Richard Titus Ekai, Eng. John Okuna Ogango and Wilfred Machage who have been nominated as ambassadors. They will be vetted by the National Assembly before formal appointment.

The Head of State has also forwarded to parliament are the names of Justice Paul Kihara Kariuki, who will be vetted for the position of Attorney General and and Noordin Mohamed Haji as Director of Public Prosecutions.
