President Kenyatta Attends UN Conference On Environment
The United Nations Environment Assembly is a new body that has been established to refocus efforts on environmental matters on a global scale.
This is the first ever United Nations Environment Assembly and will be attended by more than 1200 participants from the government, business community and civil societies.
High level delegations from over 160 UN member and observer states including his Excellency Ban Ki Moon, Secretary-General of the United Nations will also be in attendance.
Among the topics to be discussed at the meeting are UN's sustainable development goals and the illegal trade in wildlife.
Two reports on key environmental issues will be launched today.
Among them is a report looking into the economic damage of plastic waste.
