President Kenyatta Back Home From The Hague

The plane carrying President Kenyatta and his entourage touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport at 6.30 this morning

Hundreds of Kenyans thronged JKIA to give the president a warm reception

On hand to receive Kenyatta at the airport was his deputy William Ruto and a host of other government functionaries

The president assumed his title and position as President while still in the Hague having handed over to Ruto on Monday at 6PM

Ruto's short stint as Acting President ended Wednesday at 6PM

Addressing the crowd at the JKIA, the president appealed to Kenyans to be united and that they should not panic over his ICC case at the Hague

Kenyatta assured those present that the Jubilee government was united and working for the greater good of the nation

"You can even see that I handed over power to my deputy Ruto indication that we work well" Kenyatta said

The President is currently still enroute to his Harambee House office where thousands of supporters have gathered to welcome him

The President motorcade is using the Outering, Jogoo and Landhies road.

The president has returned from the Hague where he attended the status conference on his case.

Security has been beefed up along the routes where the head of state and his entourage will pass through.
