Sources indicate that the presidency will be pushing for speedy completion of projects that can be completed between now and July next year ahead of next year’s General Election.

The meeting will also re-evaluate all key government projects and the need to re-allocate resources depending on its importance.

The Cabinet meeting, which is the second this month, started on Sunday evening and is expected to end on Tuesday.

Last week, President Uhuru Kenyatta said that the national government projects are transforming counties.

Kenyatta who was touring Kiambu and Nyandarua counties cited the Sh38 billion Medical Equipment Scheme that is equipping 94 hospitals in counties – two in each county – by providing a modern laboratory, ICU, renal unit and X-ray machines, among other facilities.

During his tour, Kenyatta also inspected the progress of the Sh380 million Medical Equipment Scheme project at Engineer Level-4 Hospital.

He also commissioned the Nyandarua Kenya Medical Training Centre campus before opening Nyandarua Huduma Centre that has been constructed at a cost of  Sh34 million with a capacity to serve between 400 to 600 people daily.

The president also announced that the government has already set aside Sh70 million for water services in Nyandarua.
