President Kenyatta Leads Kenyans In Marking Mashujaa Day

In his speech, Kenyatta intimated the country's potential to achieve vision 2030 by 2020 adding that this could only be achieved through politics of unity.


The head of state has urged all leaders to end divisive politics and focus on uniting all Kenyans to end tribalism.


The president also said his administration will focus on empowerment of women and youth and called on religious leaders to end radicalization of the youth.


On insecurity the president has urged Kenyans to embrace Nyumba Kumi initiative to boost security.


Kenyatta further said that the government has started cultivation of 1000 acres of irrigated farmland to ensure food security and further ensure that Kenyans will be able to buy food at a much cheaper price by 2017


The head of state pointed out that the government was committed to ICT and has since commissioned 60 technical institutions with 40 more to come.


On his part Deputy President William Ruto stated that the Jubilee government will ensure all heroes and heroines are recognized.


Among dignitaries present during the celebrations include; Cabinet Secretaries Charity Ngilu, Kazungu Kambi, Najib Balala, Anne Waiguru, Chief Justice Dr. Willy Mutunga and Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero among others.
