President Kenyatta Leaves For Abu Dhabi

During the visit, President Kenyatta will attend a series of bilateral meetings focused on expanding and deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest between Kenya and the UAE.

The President will hold talks with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Prime Minister of the UAE, His Highness Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, among other dignitaries.

According to a press statement sent to newsrooms, the Head of State is scheduled to witness the signing of an agreement on promotion and protection of investment.

The agreement will be signed by Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary, National Treasury Henry Rotich and UAE Finance Minister Obaid Humaid Tayer.

Kenya has carried out key economic reforms which have resulted in a fully liberalised economy to encourage investment in the country.

President Kenyatta is expected to encourage UAE businessmen to visit the country to establish joint ventures with Kenyans in line with the country’s constitution that provides a guarantee against expropriation of private property.

The plane carrying the President and his delegation departed Jomo Kenyatta International Airport shortly after 6.00PM and was seen off by senior government officials led by Deputy President William Ruto.
