President Uhuru Kenyatta on Sunday evening sent a message of condolence and encouragement to Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka following the death of his father Mzee Peter Musyoka Mairu.

The Head of State said Mzee Musyoka Mairu’s contribution to the country’s development will be remembered for many years to come.

“My deepest condolences to you my brother Kalonzo Musyoka, on the passing on of your father, Mzee Peter Musyoka Mairu. May the Almighty God grant you grace for this period. Our prayers are with you, your family and friends,” President Kenyatta said.

President Kenyatta eulogized Mzee Musyoka Mairu as a visionary leader whose inspirational life will remain a great legacy to his family, his community and the nation.

Mzee Mairu died on Saturday night at Nairobi Hospital where he had been admitted.

He died at the age of 94.
