President Kenyatta reveals plans to provide cheap housing for Kenyans
President Uhuru Kenyatta has revealed the government’s plans to provide cheap and affordable housing to Kenyans.
Speaking to a group of workers during a tour of low-cost Shelter Afrique model houses in Machakos County, the president said he was keen on studying the model applied in constructing the houses to be able to replicate the same in the upcoming government project.
“Kenya is interested in affordable houses and is studying the cheapest models for implementation,” the president said.
The president was accompanied by members of the Cabinet sub-committee on housing including Deputy President William Ruto.
The two and three-bedroom houses are being constructed by Karibu Homes Riverview, a residential and commercial real estate developer with support from Shelter Afrique.
