Kenyatta rubbishes Babu Owino’s letter to Obama, invites him to State House

President Uhuru Kenya has rubbished a letter written by University of Nairobi students’ leader Babu Owino’s to US President Barack Obama.

Kenyatta termed the letter nonsensical saying should President Obama want to visit a University in Kenya, he should go to any university and not necessarily the University of Nairobi.

However, the President invited the student leader to Statehouse, Nairobi to discuss issues affecting university students and the youth in general.

Babu Owino caused a stir on Monday after he wrote a letter, addressed to the U.S. Ambassador to Kenya stating that at least 18 students have threatened to commit suicide if Obama does not visit the university.

The letter further states that, should Obama snub the invitation, at least 31 female students will urinate on a tree which he planted when he visited the university in 2006 during his tenure as Illinois Senator.

The U.S. President is expected in the country next week during the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) set for July 24th to 26th, 2015.

Some of the guests expected at the event include business executives, young entrepreneurs and others stakeholders.
