President Kenyatta to launch portal tracing Jubilee achievements

President Uhuru Kenyatta is tomorrow (Monday) set to launch the Public Information Portal that will enable Kenyans to trace the Jubilee Administration’s investments over the last four years.

Speaking at the Kisumu State Lodge, State House Spokesperson Manoah Esipisu said the portal includes programs and projects implemented at the grass root level.

“The portal will showcase various national government projects across the country. This material will be live with still images, video, and words. You can check out your village or your county and see how well you’re represented in terms of how development is reaching you”, he said.

The government had come under sharp criticism from Kenyans on Twitter and other social media platforms earlier this year for what is perceived to be intense and pointless public relations campaigns.

Kenyans criticized the Jubilee Administration for launching all projected, including small and insignificant ones, on the media ostensibly to create opportunities for public relations campaigns.

In his weekly address to the media today (Sunday), Mr Esipisu said that Qatar Head of State His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani would pay a state visit to Kenya on Tuesday.

“Kenya has signed several agreements and MOUs in various fields of cooperation with Qatar and in the upcoming state visit by the Amir of Qatar several MOUs and agreements are expected also to be added to that list,” he said.

He further noted that President Kenyatta is on Wednesday expected to meet Prince Abdulaziz Fahd of Saudi Arabia who will be visiting the country.

“On Wednesday the president will meet His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz Fahd of Saudi Arabia of Saudi Arabia who will pay him a courtesy call. A number of issues of mutual interest to both countries will be discussed”, he said.
