President Kenyatta Visits Kapedo

The President issued the ultimatum while touring areas of Baringo and Turkana counties where more than 20 police officers were killed by suspected Pokot bandits.

Top security officials are also currently holding a meeting to address the ongoing security crisis affecting the two counties

Baringo County senator Gideon Moi, his West-Pokot counter-part John Lonyangapuo and Tiaty Member of Parliament Asman Kamama are among the leaders that attended the meeting.

Police have so far recovered the bodies of 19 police officers, three Kenya Police Reservists and three civilians.

Senior police officers say the bodies of the slain are now being transported to Nairobi by road.

According to the interior ministry, reinforcement has been dispatched to Kapedo after the ambush to quell the unrest.

Inspector general of police and interior cabinet secretary Joseph Ole Lenku are also touring the area

The attacks come just a week after residents in Turkana East staged a demonstration decrying the rising insecurity in the region.

They questioned the perceived laxity to apprehend and bring to book bandits who killed GSU officers near Kapedo.
