President Kenyatta’s adviser ditches Jubilee

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s education advisor Kilemi Mwiria has joined Maendeleo Chap Chap party a day after he ditched the Jubilee Party.

Kilemi, who is eyeing the Meru gubernatorial seat, joined the Maendeleo Chap Chap Party that is led by Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua on Thursday morning at the party’s headquarters in Nairobi.

Speaking after being received to the party, Mwiria expressed confidence in capturing the Meru governor’s seat in the August 8th polls.

The former assistant minister for higher education, who lost to Governor Peter Munya in the 2013 elections, has been vocal in questioning the Jubilee Party’s resolve to assure a free and fair nomination in Meru County.

Mwiria will face off with Munya and Meru Senator Kiraitu Murungi, who is also eyeing the Meru governor’s seat on a Jubilee Party ticket.
