The committee charged with planning the burial of musician Joseph Kamaru was Wednesday night finalising preparations for his final journey on Thursday.

President Kenyatta is expected to attend the burial ceremony.

Kamaru, who died last week, will be laid to rest at his Kaharati farm in Murang’a County.

A funeral service will be held at Muthithi Primary School near his farm.

Born in 1939 in Kangema, Murang’a County, Kamaru will be remembered for his songs which were a commentary on social issues, politics, human rights and many aspects of the Kenyan society.

The popular Kikuyu musician died on Wednesday, October 3 at MP Shah Hospital in Nairobi where he was receiving treatment.
