President Uhuru Kenyatta expected to tour Kisumu on Thursday

President Uhuru Kenyatta is expected in Kisumu on Thursday to inspect national government development projects.

Ramogi FM has established that he will inspect the ongoing refurbishment of the Mamboleo Showground that is now known as the Jomo Kenyatta International Stadium.

The Head of State will then head to the Uhuru Market complex in Juakali area which is expected to host hundreds of traders who have been relocated from the streets.

The Ksh. 350million project is currently in the first phase and sits on 23 acres of land owned by Kenya Railways Corporation and will host 10,000 traders upon completion.

President Kenyatta is also scheduled to inspect the refurbishment of the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Sports Ground which is set to be made a sports complex.

He will finally visit the Kisumu Port which is yet to be officially commissioned even though the MV Uhuru vessel has been transporting fuel to Uganda.

On Wednesday, Acting Kisumu City manager Abala Wanga was spotted at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Sports Ground alongside other city officials making final preparations.
