Presidential escort vehicles nabbed by NTSA for speeding

Hundreds of motorists among them Isiolo Prison Commanding Officer, Ibrahim Hassan, were on Thursday, January 26 arrested by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) law enforcement officers for various traffic offences committed along the Meru-Nanyuki highway.

Passengers travelling along the busy highway, including two presidential escort vehicles enroute to Marsabit for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s voter mobilization tour, were caught up in the crackdown before they were cleared to proceed with the journey.

Motorists who were arrested for flouting traffic rules complained of lack of road signs along the highway.

They were later released on 10,000 shillings cash bail and are scheduled to appear in court.
