Pressure mounts on Governor Nyongo to oust Kisumu County Secretary

Pressure continues to mount on Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong’o to take action against the County Secretary Dr. Olang’o Onudi over the heat arising from an erroneous list of land defaulters published in the media.

Kisumu County ODM party Coordinating Committee Vice Chairman Kennedy Otieno Ajwang has given the Governor an ultimatum of 24 hours to take action against the county secretary.

Ajwang says the governor must also take action against the officer who authorised the expenditure of close to Ksh.2.5 million for the advert which the Governor now says was erroneous.

Speaking to Radio Ramogi on Wednesday at the Kisumu Central sub-county ODM party offices, Ajwang said the county secretary must vacate office.

Ajwang said ODM members will hold a peaceful demonstration on Friday to force him out of office.

Meanwhile, Kisumu activist Audi Ogada has recorded statements with the police claiming his life is in danger after he received a threatening phone call from the County Secretary Olang’o Onudi.

Ogada recorded the statement at the Kisumu Central Police Station alleging that the county secretary issued threats to his life and family after he (activist) addressed the media over the erroneous advert.
