Primary school head teacher killed in Igoji, Meru

A primary school head teacher was killed at Igonji on Tuesday by thugs while on his way home.

Geeto Primary School headmaster, Dennis Mutua, is said to have boarded a motorcycle and upon reaching Igoji Teachers Training College they were rammed by a vehicle.

Confirming the incident, Imenti south OCPD John Cheruiyot said that after the incident five people came out of the vehicle armed with pangas and hacked the head teacher.

“The boda boda operator escaped unhurt and reported the incident at Igoji Police Station,” “said the OCPD.

Tthe Imenti South OCPD said that nothing was stolen from the head teacher.

“His Ksh30,000 in cash and mobile phone were still intact,” said OCPD Cheruiyot.

The body was taken to St. Ann Mission Hospital mortuary where a postmortem will be carried out.

Speaking to the media, the locals decried rising crime rate pointing a finger to a criminal gang operating in the area.
