Prime minister says Egypt at war after city attack
The Egyptian Prime Minister, Ibrahim Mahlab, has described his country as being “at war” after a bomb attack on the Italian consulate in Cairo.
The attack happened on 11th July 2015 at around 6:15 am, which left at least one person dead and several people injured when a car bomb went off at the building.
A statement by the Islamic State that was circulated on jihadist Twitter accounts stated that Islamic State militants carried out the attack using a 450-kilogram car bomb.
The statement further warned Muslims to stay away from “security dens” because they were “legitimate targets.”
Speaking to the press, the building security guard said that, policemen and civilians were among the injured
