Prime suspect in murder of 4 men in Kitengela freed on Ksh.2M cash bail

The main suspect charged with the murder of four men, in Kitengela, Kajiado County, Benson Melonyie Ole Mungai, has been released on bond by the Kajiado High Court.

The suspect who appeared before Judge Stellah Mutuku for a ruling on his bond was granted a cash bail of Ksh.2 million or one surety of Ksh.1 million.

The pre-trial of the case is set to begin on June 14, 2022, with the suspect directed to appear any time the court needs him.

Benson is accused of being behind the murder of Fredrick Mureithi Wanjiru (30), Victor Mwangi Wanjiru (25), Mike George Ondusso (29) and Nicholas Kyengo Musa (28).

The four were killed in August last year 15 kilometres from Kitengela town at Enkamuriaki village. They were lynched by an angry mob of villagers accusing them of being livestock thieves.
