Two Prison warders from Kitale Main Prison are currently nursing gunshot wounds at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret after an altercation that led to one of the warders shooting his colleague before shooting himself.

According to Trans Nzoia County Police boss Lilian Okembo, George Ouma Ngira, a prison warder who was on patrol, went to his colleague Sargent Patrick Wafula’s house where he allegedly shot him in the ear before turning the gun on himself and shooting himself in the head.

Reports indicate that the bullet is still lodged in his head.

Police are currently investigating claims that Ngira shot Wafula because he had allegedly been collecting money from them promising to secure jobs for their children at a local security agency.
