Prisoner Escapes Jail During Duty

Ramadhan Alphan Gemu, 40, allegedly escaped from the farm’s prison during a period of irrigation at the prison.

According to the Deputy Officer in charge of the prison, Charles Ochieng, the prisoner was serving a 4-year sentence for the offense of robbery and had four months left on his sentence before escaping.

The prisoner was being guarded by a warden at the time of the escape.
