Police in Nyatike sub county have launched an investigation into the death of a man in his twenties who is linked to the death of a Form Four girl, a student at the St.Sabianus Owich secondary school in Nyatike.

The body of the student was discovered dumped in a bush on Wednesday by a resident, Beatrice Akoth, who had gone to collect firewood.

Police officers are yet to piece together the last moments of the schoolgirl before her brutal murder.

The area chief Jane Kosome who confirmed the incident to Citizen Digital said the murder suspect, Evance Juma appeared to have committed suicide shortly after the act.

Juma’s body was found dangling on a rope inside his neighbour’s house on Thursday, deepening the murder mystery further.

Though the body of the suspect was found hanging with a rope, the area chief said the police have ruled out suicide as the possible cause of death.

She said the police suspect that the murder suspect was killed and then the suicide incident staged.

Before his death, Mrs.Kosome said the suspect wrote messages to his mother informing her about his intention to commit suicide.

He wrote “Mum, I’m dead, and you will never see me again. Please take good care of my siblings”.

The body of the suspect has been moved to Migori county referral hospital morgue pending autopsy and investigation by the criminal investigation officers.
