Property destroyed as fire breaks out at Amref offices – PHOTOS

Property of an unknown value was on Monday evening destroyed after a fire broke out at Amref offices next to  Wilson Airport in Lang’ata, Nairobi.

The fire broke out at around 5pm, destroying documents and stationery before a team from the fire brigade and National Disaster Management Unit, contained the inferno.

No one was injured during the incident whose cause could not be immediately established.

The fire had been put out at around 6pm. There were no casualties reported and all staff are accounted for,” read a statement from the organisation.

Sources however indicate that the fire was caused by an electric fault.

“Investigations will be done immediately to ascertain the source of the fire and the extent of the damage on the building,” said Amref CEO Dr. Githinji Gitahi.
