Property worth millions destroyed in Gikomba market fire
Property worth millions of shillings has been razed down by fire at Nairobi’s Gikomba market.
The fire that started at around 6 am burnt down two stores where over 50 traders had stored their merchandise.
According to the traders, the fire started in one of the stores and spread to the other.
“We have had so many cases of fire destroying our properties here in Gikomba market and it is unfortunate that we incur huge losses as a result,” lamented one of the traders.
The cause of the fire is yet to be established.
