PS Kibicho terms DP Ruto assassination claims as nonsense

Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho has rubbished claims of an alleged plot to eliminate Deputy President William Ruto as “utter nonsense.”

Dr. Kibicho says the alleged plan to assassinate the DP stems from unfounded claims as no one has filed a formal complaint on the matter.

” I hear assassinations claims… Who has complained? I am yet to hear someone complain. That’s utter nonsense and unfounded claims. We should stop creating things that don’t exist,” said the Interior PS.

He was speaking on Monday during the commissioning of a borehole at Shauri Moyo Police Station in Nairobi.

Kibicho said the assassination claims, which have been blamed on four cabinet secretaries; Peter Munya (Trade), Joseph Mucheru (ICT), James Kamau (Transport) and Sicily Kariuki (Health), and a host of Mt. Kenya leaders, are useless and baseless and should not be dominating headlines as no one has filed a case on the same.

“We are credited with intelligence and brains, better than what we are hearing. It’s unfortunate we are occupied by media talking about imaginations. We must be a country led by logic and truths, it’s unfortunate that people make conclusions even before investigations. Political interference should not to be accepted,” he added.

“We should stop creating things that don’t exist. The moment we have a formal claim we deal with it in accordance with the law. We will not as a ministry be stopped from doing our work.”

The allegations surfaced following an unverified letter that was circulated on social media purporting to expose the said plan to eliminate the DP.

One person, Dennis Itumbi, has since been arrested and is expected to be charged in connection with the letter.
