PS’s bodyguard abducted by Al Shabaab found dead

A bodyguard attached to Public Works Principal Secretary, Miriam El Maawy, has been found dead in Milihoi, Lamu County two days after the PS was attacked by Al Shabaab militants in the area.

The bodyguard was accompanying the PS during Thursday’s attack by Al Shabaab militants in the incident that left five security officers dead during a rescue mission of the PS who had been kidnapped by the militants.

During the incident a nephew to the PS also died.

The trainee pilot was with the PS in the car when they were abducted by Al Shabaab leading to an accident in which their car rolled and caught fire.

The PS suffered gunshot wounds during the incident that happened after she attended a Lapsset event in Lamu and she is still admitted at a Nairobi hospital.
